The Global Engineering Innovation Forum Roundtable commenced in Beijing on May 25, coinciding with a workshop involving foreign members of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE).

At the meeting, CAE President Li Xiaohong gave a speech and also conferred certificates to some new foreign CAE members elected in 2019 and 2021.

Twelve CAE foreign members attended the meeting presided over by CAE Vice President Wang Chen, with the closing remarks given by CAE Vice President Deng Xiuxin. The members shared their insights and exchanged ideas on three topics - the mechanism for achieving carbon emission targets, the construction of digital twin cities, and the decentralization of manufacturing transformation.

Approximately 40 participants, including representatives from various departments of the CAE and Engineering journal as well as experts from the forum’s organizer, Beijing University of Chemical Technology, were present at the meeting.

In addition, CAE foreign members joined the opening ceremony of the ZGC Forum on the evening of May 25 and the Global Engineering Innovation Forum on the afternoon of May 26, running parallel to the ZGC Forum.
