The concluding and review meeting for the consulting research project A Study on the Development of Crop Breeding Technology with Intelligent Design led by Wan Jianmin, a member of the Agriculture Division of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, was held in Beijing on February 17, 2022.

On behalf of the project team, researcher Ma Youzhi gave a detailed report on progress and results in the project. The review team said it believes the project proposed the general idea, strategic focus and policy recommendations for intelligent design in crop breeding in China based on analysis of nature and key tasks for the endeavor, development trends in the world and the status and challenges in China. The project delivered the report of A Study on the Development Strategy of Crop Breeding Technology with Intelligent Design.

The project employed a complete research system, conducted adequate research and used informative materials that resulted in highly innovative and forward-looking research. It proposed targeted policy recommendations, used the project funds in an appropriate manner and met the expected objectives. The review team unanimously agreed to approve its conclusion and acceptance.
