The Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) started a strategic research and consulting project led by CAE member Song Baoan, titled “The Path of Rural Revitalization in the Western Region,” in Guiyang City on July 12, 2023.

Deng Xiuxin, Vice President of the CAE, attended the meeting together with more than 70 participants from chair organizations such as the CAE Strategic Research Centre, Guizhou University, Yunnan Agricultural University and Sichuan Academy of Agricultural Sciences, as well as 14 participating organizations including Xinjiang Academy of Agricultural and Reclamation Science and Shihezi University.

The project team reported in detail the research plan that would focus on issues related to the industry, science and technology, talent in the western region with the aim of suggesting the path to comprehensive rural revitalization. In the meeting, CAE members and experts fully affirmed the research and also gave their comments and suggestions on research objectives, ideas and tasks.

Song said that the project team will improve the research according to the suggestions, and complete the expected objectives to inform decision-making related to rural revitalization in China and its western region.
