President Norihiro Suzuki of Hitachi Research Institute visited the CAE
On March 24, 2025, Tian Qi, Director-General of the Department of International Cooperation of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE), met with a delegation led by Norihiro Suzuki, Member of the Engineering Academy of Japan and President of Hitachi Research Institute. Both sides conducted in-depth exchanges focusing on deepening Sino-Japanese cooperation in engineering, science and technology innovation.

Tian Qi expressed his appreciation for Hitachi's long-term commitment to China's economic and social development, as well as its efforts to enhance economic and technological exchanges and cooperation between China and Japan. He reviewed the history of friendly interactions between our institute and Hitachi, and introduced the functions, missions, organizational structure and major work of the CAE, as well as the exchange and cooperation mechanisms between the CAE and its Japanese counterpart. He stated that the Chinese side is willing to deepen cooperation with Hitachi, and actively promote practical collaboration through academic seminars, technical exchanges and other platforms, so as to contribute to the advancement of engineering science and technology and the improvement of human well-being.
President Norihiro Suzuki noted that as a large-scale comprehensive multinational enterprise group, Hitachi boasts a broad business scope covering digital systems and services, green energy, industrial internet of mobility and other sectors. Throughout its century-long development, Hitachi has always adhered to the philosophy of "empowering enterprises with cutting-edge technology", and attached great importance to technological innovation, open innovation and cooperation with research and development institutions. China is one of Hitachi's most important markets, and the group highly values cooperation with relevant Chinese authorities. As Hitachi's think tank, Hitachi Research Institute is particularly focused on the development trends and innovation of frontier technologies. He expressed the willingness to further strengthen think tank cooperation with our institute in the field of engineering science and technology.
The delegation was accompanied by Chen Yangqiu, Senior Consultant and former Deputy General Manager of Hitachi (China) Co., Ltd., and Wang Naihui, Senior Manager of Hitachi (China) Co., Ltd.
