The cooperation committee between the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) and the Zhejiang Provincial People's Government held a meeting in Hangzhou on July 25, 2023.

Wang Chen, Vice President of the CAE, and Lu Shan, Deputy Governor of Zhejiang, attended the meeting and delivered speeches. The meeting reviewed and approved the selection of expert committee members, the duties and rules of the cooperation committee and the expert committee, the charter of the Zhejiang Research Institute, and its project management rules.

Wang said that CAE-Zhejiang cooperation has achieved significant results. Notably, focusing on major national and provincial strategies, the Zhejiang Research Institute has organized CAE members and experts to conduct research, and built a high-end regional think-tank with multiple achievements, which provide solid support for the province’s high-quality economic and social development.

He said he hoped that under the leadership of the cooperation committee, more efforts will be made to strengthen joint strategic consulting and research, improve research in core technologies, enhance the strategic scientific and technological forces, promote the collaborative training of top talents, and gather intellectual resources.

Lu expressed gratitude for the long-term support provided by the CAE to Zhejiang. He set forth requirements for the Zhejiang Research Institute in terms of goals, functions, consulting models, and industrial development.

On the afternoon of July 26, Wang conducted research and participated in discussions at Zhejiang University focusing on the Healthy China Initiative and the high-quality development of medical education.
