The Science and Technology Conference of Life (SATOL 2022), hosted by the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE), the Hangzhou Municipal People's Government and Zhejiang University, was held in Hangzhou from December 16 to 18, 2022.

With the theme of "exploration, integration, and innovation", the conference promoted the combination of life sciences and clinical medicine and strengthened cooperation between the medical and engineering sectors.

SATOL 2022 featured one main summit and eight parallel forums, with more than 210 experts making reports online or offline. Academicians including Chen Zhu, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, participated in the summit.

For the first time, the conference released a list of top figures in the SATOL Science Talk program. It also launched the Organ Protection China Tour 2022+, the SATOL Science Talk annual gala, and a research project on the application of medical innovations in the Internet era, a key consultation project of the CAE. In addition, it witnessed the signing of agreements for enterprises to settle in Liangzhu Life Science and Technology Town located in Yuhang District of Hangzhou City.

During the conference, medical and health experts from across the world exchanged ideas on theories, clinical practices and industry-related topics in various in-person or online parallel forums and sessions including the International Summit on Infections and Microecology, the International HBP Surgery Summit and International Conference of Organ Protection, the Digital Healthcare and Internet Summit and the Traditional Chinese Medicine Innovation Summit.
