Wu Manqing, Vice President of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE), joined CAE members and well-known experts to participate in the "Fujian Digital Economy Academicians Visit Program” from August 2 to 4, 2022.
The group visited Quanzhou and Fuzhou cities to conduct research on enterprises related to digital economy, held discussions with scientific and technological personnel, and helped solve technical problems.
On August 4, the CAE- Fujian Provincial Government Cooperation Committee held its first meeting presided over by Kang Tao, Vice Governor of Fujian and also the committee’s director.
Wu, also the committee’s director, delivered a speech at the meeting, which heard a report on the work of the Fujian Academy of Chinese Engineering Science and Technology Development Strategy and approved the list of supplementary members for the institute’s academic commission.
During a symposium on Fujian’s digital economy development held on the same day, CAE members and experts offered ideas and suggestions related to the development status, existing problems, and innovation-driven growth. Fujian governor Zhao Long expressed thanks to the CAE and experts for their care, support, and assistance to the province’s economic and social development.
Wu said the CAE attaches great importance to cooperation with Fujian and hopes to deepen the cooperation between the two sides. While strengthening its functions as a national high-end think tank, the CAE will serve the country’s decision-making, meet the needs of the coastal province, deepen strategic cooperation, and contribute its wisdom and strength to the high-quality development of Fujian.
