An exhibition on scientific and technological innovation was launched at Shanghai Automobile Exhibition Center in Shanghai's Jiading district on June 30, showcasing the major achievements made by the Chinese Academy of Engineering through the years to the public.
The 5,500-square-meter exhibition hall displays achievements covering nine major fields like national defense and nuclear energy, aerospace exploration, deep-sea exploration, as well as traffic equipment and engineering.
Visitors can learn from the boards, entities, models, and videos about the creation of major achievements like the Jiaolong manned submersible, the C919 large passenger jet, as well as the Fuxing bullet train.
The exhibition not only showcases the achievements China has made through the years, but also aims to attract students' attention to science and technology, as well as develop public interest in the field, said Zhong Zhihua, vice-president of the Chinese Academy of Engineering.
A total of 150 students from universities, middle schools, and primary schools in Shanghai were invited to see the exhibition after the launch ceremony.
The exhibition is currently being held at the Shanghai Automobile Exhibition Center (No 7575 Boyuan Road, Jiading district). It will run until Dec 31.
