On July 6, 2021, the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) held a mid-term seminar on the strategic study of the roadmap for China’s carbon peaking and neutrality, a major consulting project by CAE.

CAE President Li Xiaohong attended and chaired the seminar. He pointed out that the CAE should think forward and innovatively in this project and propose insightful solutions to support decision-making. He said project groups should analyze the current situation and outstanding issues to recommend a roadmap for implementation along with policies and 10-20 key technologies needed to meet targets on peaking carbon dioxide emissions and carbon neutrality.

The seminar heard research findings by project groups, while participating CAE members and experts offered their opinions and put forward suggestions.

CAE member Du Xiangwan concluded the event with his suggestions and made further arrangements for the project.
