The "Strategic Research on High-quality Development of Integrated Rice and Aquaculture Farming”, a research and consulting project of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE), had a closing review meeting in Yangzhou City, Jiangsu Province on August 27, 2022.

More than 30 experts from Yangzhou University, Huazhong Agricultural University, Zhejiang University, the National Fisheries Technology Extension Centre, Shanghai Ocean University and other organizations attended the meeting.

The project summarized the new achievements in the integrated development, analyzed the new situation and problems, and also put forward general ideas, objectives, tasks, strategic priorities, measures, and policy recommendations.

Experts agreed that the project features complete studies, sufficient research, rich information, and solid efforts. The research results are also highly innovative and forward-looking, and the policy recommendations are targeted, making the project of great significance to promote the high-quality and sustainable development of the sector in China, according to the review. The project has fully completed the tasks and achieved the predetermined goals to pass the final evaluation.
