On July 14, the launch meeting for the “Strategic Research on Building a Health Promotion System for the Elderly in China”, a key consulting project of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE), was held in Beijing. Participants included CAE members as well as experts from government agencies, universities, medical institutions, research institutes, industry associations and enterprises.

The project team presented a report covering the research background, objectives, approach, plan and content. The attending experts held discussions on topics such as improving the health service system for the elderly, promoting the implementation of the national strategy of actively responding to an aging population, and advancing the comprehensive, coordinated, and sustainable development of various undertakings related to the elderly.
