On November 16th, 2025, the "Academic Seminar on Engineering Science and Technology of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) - Artificial Intelligence Empowering the Innovative Development of Education", hosted by the Information and Electronics Engineering Division of the CAE and Tongji University, was held in Shanghai. CAE Member Zheng Qinghua from Tongji University served as the Chairman of the seminar, and more than 330 experts and scholars from universities, research institutions and industry attended the seminar.

Through keynote reports, achievement releases, parallel sub-forums and other forms, the seminar exchanged ideas, shared experiences, explored paths from different dimensions such as engineering science and technology, education governance, and industry practice, and jointly explored new paths and new paradigms for the innovative development of future education. The keynote reports systematically analyzed the development trends of the integrated innovation of artificial intelligence and education in the next 5 to 10 years from perspectives including "AI+ Promoting University Transformation", "Artificial Intelligence Reshaping Knowledge Production and Dissemination", "AI Empowering New Paradigms of Smart Education", and "Artificial Intelligence Driving Disciplinary Transformation and Reconstruction of Talent Training System", and discussed how to support the high-quality development of higher education and the cultivation of engineering science and technology talents through the construction of disciplinary large models, university large models and industry large models.

The parallel sub-forums took "New Paradigms of AI-Empowered Education and Reconstruction of Learning Ecology" and "Disciplinary Reshaping in the Digital-Intelligent Era and Modernization of Higher Education Governance" as themes. Experts and scholars from multiple universities and enterprises conducted in-depth exchanges and case sharing on topics such as the construction of intelligent learning environments, the innovation of teaching models with teacher-student-machine collaboration, intelligent assessment and learning analysis, the optimization and adjustment of disciplinary and professional structures, the digital transformation of educational administration governance systems, and the construction of disciplinary large models and university "cockpits".

This seminar built a high-level platform for dialogue and cooperation in the fields of artificial intelligence and education, concentratedly displayed China's latest explorations and practices in AI-empowered education, and formed a number of consensus outcomes on artificial intelligence promoting educational reform, facilitating disciplinary reshaping and cultivating innovative talents.
