The academic seminar on engineering science and technology of the CAE - "promoting the construction of beautiful countryside - accelerating the development of agricultural product processing, storage and transportation industry" successfully held
The Academic Seminar on Engineering Science and Technology of the Chinese Academy of Engineering - "Promoting the Construction of Beautiful Countryside - Accelerating the Development of Agricultural Product Processing, Storage and Transportation Industry" and the 12th International Annual Conference on Food Science were successfully held in Changsha from August 9th to 10th, 2025.
The conference was hosted by the Environment & Light and Textile Industries Engineering Division of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE), and organized by the Hunan Academy of Agricultural Sciences and other institutions. Professor Samuel Godefroy, President of the International Union of Food Science and Technology, and CAE Member He Kebin, Director of the CAE Environment & Light and Textile Industries Engineering Division, delivered speeches. CAE Members including Shan Yang, He Kebin, Sun Baoguo, Chen Jian, Ren Fazheng, and Huang He attended the conference, and nearly 350 experts and scholars from home and abroad participated on-site.
The agricultural product processing, storage and transportation industry is an important pillar industry for national economy and people's livelihood, as well as a core driving force for regional economic growth and farmers' income increase. Facing the urgent requirements of the new development stage, new development philosophy and new development pattern in the context of the new era, it is imperative to deepen technological innovation in agricultural product processing and promote the high-quality and green development of the agricultural product processing, storage and transportation industry.
CAE members and experts focused on themes such as the modernization of agricultural product processing, storage and transportation, the path of high-quality development of the food industry, nutritional safety assessment and intervention strategies, food science and technology innovation and achievement transformation, and the construction of food safety management systems. Through 16 keynote academic reports and more than 100 sub-reports, they jointly discussed the technological innovation and future development strategies of the agricultural product processing, storage and transportation industry and the food industry, providing scientific and technological support for further enhancing the influence and international competitiveness of China's agricultural product processing, storage and transportation industry and food industry, as well as the implementation of the "Healthy China" strategy.
