CAE, AAET host webinar on the prevention and recovery care from covid-19 with Chinese Medicine

The Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) and the ASEAN Academy of Engineering and Technology (AAET) hosted a webinar on the afternoon of July 25, 2022 on the role of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) in covid-19 prevention and recovery.

 

CAE Secretary-General Chen Jianfeng and his counterpart at AAET, Choo Kok Beng, delivered opening speeches at the symposium as both sides expressed a willingness to deepen exchanges and cooperation in the field of TCM and promoting the results of the meeting to benefit more people.

 

Experts from the Beijing University of Chinese Medicine and Beijing University of Chinese Medicine Third Affiliated Hospital gave reports along with experts from AAET, Indonesian Chinese Medicine Association and the Malaysian Chinese Medical Society of Epidemic Control and Prevention (CMEC). Their reports covered the TCM research and application in the fight against the pandemic. The symposium also included lively discussions and exchanges on a broad range of topics. 

 

Approximately 300 people participated the online symposium including those from health departments, hospitals, TCM schools and associations from China, Malaysia, Cambodia, Indonesia, Myanmar, Singapore and Vietnam. More than 1,700 people also watched a livestream of the session. 

 

The webinar was co-organized by the Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, the International Knowledge Centre for Engineering Sciences and Technology under the Auspices of UNESCO (IKCEST), Ruijin Hospital (Branch) Affiliated to Shanghai Jiaotong University School of Medicine, Binzhou Medical University, Ganzhou People's Hospital, along with UTAR-T&CM Centre-TCM Promotion Centre, Centre for Research in Traditional Chinese Medicine (CRTCM), Malaysian Chinese Medical Society of Epidemic Control and Prevention (CMEC).
