On September 7, the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) and the ASEAN Academy of Engineering and Technology (AAET) held the 3rd Joint Seminar on Chinese Medicine at Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR). Li Xiaohong, President of the CAE, and Ewe Hong Tat, President of the AAET and UTAR, delivered speeches at the opening ceremony.

The seminar invited experts from China and ASEAN countries to discuss various topics including the classic theories of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), modern clinical applications and experimental research, as well as the development of TCM in Malaysia. All speakers engaged in lively discussions with the audience. The seminar attracted about 150 TCM practitioners in person and around 100 online participants from China, Malaysia, Singapore, and other ASEAN countries, effectively promoting international exchange and cooperation in TCM.

The event was co-hosted by the CAE and AAET and organized by UTAR. It also received support from the International Knowledge Centre for Engineering Sciences and Technology under the auspices of UNESCO (IKCEST), the Malaysian Chinese Medical Association, the Federation of Chinese Physicians and the Acupuncturists Association of Malaysia, the Perak Chinese Physicians' Association, and the Federation of Chinese Physicians and Medicine Dealers Associations of Malaysia.

In a work meeting prior to the seminar, Li Xiaohong and Ewe Hong Tat signed a Memorandum of Understanding to promote academic exchanges and cooperation between the two academies.
