Li Xiaohong, President of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, met with a delegation led by Benoît Dubuis, President of the Swiss Academy of Engineering Sciences (SATW), in Beijing on July 23.

The two sides reviewed the past friendly cooperation between the two academies and praised the signing in July in Zurich of a new Memorandum of Understanding, under which an inaugural joint symposium on healthy ageing was held. Both parties expressed their willingness to consolidate cooperation, in content and form, to better serve economic and social development in the two countries and contribute to global well-being. Wang Chen, Vice President of the CAE, engaged in in-depth discussions with the Swiss side on the implementation of future cooperative initiatives between the two academies.

Zhang Jianhua, Vice President of Shanghai University and Chief Scientist of the Sino-Swiss Institute of Advanced Technology (SSIAT), accompanied the visit with SSIAT Executive Director Zhang Lei. Participants in the meeting also included Chen Jianfeng, Secretary-General of the CAE, and Tian Qi, Director-General of the CAE Department of International Cooperation.
