The Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) and the National Academy of Engineering of Korea (NAEK) co-hosted the 2nd China-Korea Development Forum on Engineering Science and Technology in Seoul on September 3 under the theme Green Technology for Carbon Neutrality.

Li Xiaohong, President of the CAE, and Kinam Kim, President of the NAEK, delivered welcome speeches, while Choi Nam-ho, Vice Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy in South Korea, gave a congratulatory message. Fourteen academy members and experts from both sides delivered reports in the meeting, which also attracted about 120 representatives from government, academia and industry.

In addition to academic presentations, the forum included Q&A sessions and discussions during which participants exchanged views on carbon neutrality roadmaps, policies and technologies for new and renewable energy, and CCUS (carbon capture, utilization, and storage) technologies. They also explored potential areas for collaboration, including eliminating barriers in the electricity market. The forum laid a solid foundation for technical cooperation in carbon neutrality between the engineering and technology communities of the two countries.
