The 2nd China-France Forum on Translational Medicine and Precision Diagnosis was held at the French National Academy of Medicine (NAM) in Paris from November 13 to 14, 2024.

The forum, co-hosted by the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE), NAM, and the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences (CAMS), was organized by the Shanghai Jiaotong University School of Medicine (SJTUSM) and its affiliated Ruijin Hospital. More than 80 experts and academy members from the two countries in the fields of life sciences, clinical medicine, and translational medicine attended the event in person.

The meeting featured seven topics: endocrinology research, surgical robotics, aging-related diseases, immunology and related therapies, AI applications in healthcare, neurodevelopment and autism, and the latest developments in infectious diseases. It included 21 keynote speeches and three panel discussions where experts held in-depth exchanges.

Wang Chen, Vice President of the CAE, and CAE Members including Chen Saijuan and Fan Xianqun were among the invited attendees. Wang delivered a speech at the opening ceremony and chaired the panel discussions featuring multidimensional cooperation between China and France in the fields of medicine, research and education.

In May 2023, the CAE, CAMS, NAM and the National Academy of Technologies of France (NATF) signed a Memorandum of Understanding in Shanghai to promote high-level cooperation between Chinese and French engineering, science, and medicine communities through annual forums. The second edition took place in the context of the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and France. The meeting is expected to help address global challenges and advance the shared goal of a global community of health for all.
