On the morning of April 14, 2026, Chen Jianfeng, Secretary-General of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE), met in Beijing with the visiting delegation led by Prof. Stephen McArthur, Principal and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Strathclyde.

    During the meeting, both sides shared an overview of the CAE and the University of Strathclyde, and had an in-depth discussion on their respective efforts in promoting engineering science and technology exchanges and cooperation between China and the UK, industrializing innovative achievements, and cultivating talents. Both sides agreed to further strengthen close ties, leverage their respective strengths, and work together to deepen bilateral exchanges and cooperation in engineering science and technology.

    Also present at the meeting were Prof. Campbell Booth, Associate Principal and Executive Dean for the Faculty of Engineering; Fan Lin, Principal’s Adviser on University Engagement with China; and Prof.Wenmiao Shu, Head of Department-Biomedical Engineering, along with relevant staff from the Bilateral Cooperation Division of the Department of International Cooperation of the CAE.
