On September 14, 2026, the launch meeting of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE)'s international cooperation strategic consulting project "International Collaborative Innovation Strategy Research on Key Technologies of Forest Carbon Sequestration, Carbon Storage, and Carbon Substitution under Global Climate Governance" was held in Beijing.

    CAE Member Liu Shirong, the project leader, together with other CAE Members and experts, as well as project team members and relevant staff from the International Cooperation Department of the CAE, the National Forestry and Grassland Administration, and the Chinese Academy of Forestry attended the meeting.

    At the meeting, the project team reported the research background, objectives and tasks, organizational structure, schedule and expected results. The participants discussed the project theme, put forward suggestions on highlighting needs, selecting international partners, and promoting consensus, and further clarified the path of project implementation.

    The project team said that the suggestions would be carefully considered and adopted where appropriate. They will refine the research plan, optimize the research framework and content, strengthen cooperation among project working groups and with domestic and foreign experts, and summarize the research results to ensure the high-quality completion of the project’s research tasks.
