Guiyang unveils Urban and Rural Planning Exhibition Center

The Urban and Rural Planning Exhibition Center, located in the Jinyang New District of Guiyang, Guizhou's provincial capital, opened on July 27 after 18 months of' construction that began in December 2010.

It covers an area of 22,300 square meters, and applies various acoustic, optical and electronic technologies in its interior design. Wu Liangyong, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chinese Academy of Engineering and top-prize winner of the 2011 China Science and Technology Award, addressed his congratulations to the center's opening.

The steel-structured building has four floors and a basement. It is home to 24 exhibition areas and displays the city's achievements in the ecological civilization, transportation planning and infrastructure construction, etc. The new building hopes to demonstrate Guiyang's eco-friendly development pattern and to encourage more local people in this green course.
