The second UNESCO Engineering Report, Engineering for Sustainable Development: Delivering on the Sustainable Development Goals, jointly supported by the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) and Tsinghua University, and co-published by UNESCO and the International Centre for Engineering Education of UNESCO (ICEE), was officially published in Paris and Beijing on“World Engineering Day”on March 4, 2021. The Report includes a main report in Chinese, English and French, along with a summary report in Chinese, English, French, Russian, Spanish and Arabic. As the flagship report of UNESCO, the Report deliberates on efforts realizing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) while calling on governments, enterprises, universities, research institutions and the public to further focus on the engineering by adopting pragmatic actions.
In order to support the SDGs by the engineering and strengthen international cooperation on engineering education, the International Knowledge Centre for Engineering Sciences and Technology under the Auspices of UNESCO (IKCEST) will host the Academic Seminar on Engineering for Sustainable Development: Delivering on the Sustainable Development Goals via the link from 20:00-22:00 on December 9, 2021 (BJT). The seminar proposes to invite UNESCO, the World Federation of Engineering Organizations (WFEO), the International Engineering Alliance (IEA) joined by some authors preparing the Report to further deliberate on topics including UNESCO engineering initiatives, SDGs accelerated by the engineering, a more sustainable world established by the engineering, future-oriented engineering education, cross-regional trends of engineering and amendments to GAPC of the IEA.
