Research targets brain science development in Greater Bay Area

The Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) launched a strategic research and consulting project that centres on brain science and brain-inspired research in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area during an online and onsite meeting in Guangzhou on May 10, 2022. 

 

CAE member Gao Tianming, the project leader, described the project background, research objectives, research plans and performance indicators. He noted that the Greater Bay Area has unique advantages in brain science and brain-inspired research. Proceeding under the context of the development strategy of Greater Bay Area and the China Brain Project, efforts will be made to understand the current status, map out development strategies and approaches, and also offer planning suggestions, according to Gao.

 

CAE members and experts participating in the meeting affirmed the importance and necessity of the project, and gave targeted suggestions for its implementation.

 

Gao, on behalf of the project team, expressed gratitude to participants and said the team will study and apply their valuable opinions and fulfill research tasks with high-quality consulting reports.
