Research into the intelligent manufacturing development for small and medium enterprises (SMEs), a key consulting project by the Chinese Academy of Engineering, was inaugurated at a hybrid online-offline session in Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province on June 10, 2022.

Experts at the meeting held discussions on cases of intelligent transformation of manufacturing SMEs, smart products, and cultivation of specialized and sophisticated SMEs that produce new and unique products.  They also exchanged views on advanced foreign operations, talent training, and policy suggestions, adding advice for the research plan.

The project team will focus on technical approaches and policy systems, and further study how to improve productivity and quality through intelligent transformation to help SMEs actively embrace the transition.
