The "Frontier Research on Integration of New Energy Development and Energy Efficiency Improvement", a key consulting project of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE), underwent a pre-closing review meeting in Beijing on August 4, 2022.

Twenty-two members of the CAE, including Vice President Li Zhongping, joined the meeting, along with over 60 researchers from the project team.

The project team presented reports on the current situation and trends of new energy development, the integration with petrochemical and steel industries, the synergistic utilization of coal and new energy resources, and the formation of a clean and low-carbon energy coupling system featuring the coordinated use of multiple energy resources.

CAE members at the meeting fully acknowledged the project achievements and provided suggestions. Li expressed the hope that the project team would make further efforts to gather expert opinions in order to build China's modern energy system with scientific consulting.
