The two-year project was officially launched at the beginning of 2018 and has now been completed. During that period, dozens of CAE Members, experts and scholars from universities, research institutes and industries participated in the research. Through literature review and holding expert advisory meetings, seminars and international exchange meetings, in-depth research and discussions were carried out. Challenges and countermeasures of China’s international cooperation were put forward from three aspects of telemedicine, TCM and medical education. Based on these efforts and through further review of the current situation at home and abroad and of China’s medical and health industry, the Report on Medical and Health Cooperation of the Belt and Road Initiative for 2035 was formed.
