In 2022, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) has designed the Implementation Strategy of the UNESCO Recommendation on Open Science and convened five ad-hoc Working Groups on open science to support Member States in the implementation of open science practices. International Knowledge Centre for Engineering Sciences and Technology (IKCEST) was invited to attend the 1st meeting of Working Group on Open Science Capacity Building and the 1st meeting of Working Group on Open Science Infrastructures on May 12 and July 7 respectively. The meetings presented recent progress made by different actors in open science capacity building and infrastructures. At the same time, the consensus on enhancing Regional Science, Engineering, Technology and Innovation (SETI) capacity was reached. IKCEST will continue to support the UNESCO Recommendation on Open Science and make further contribution under the guidance of experts.
