Delegation Led by CAE Member Jin Yong Conducted Survey and Study Tour in Circular Economy Park in Shangrao, Jiangxi Province

Upon invitation of the Shangrao Municipal People’s Government, a delegation headed by CAE Member Jin Yong from the Division of Chemical, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering of CAE, conducted a survey and study tour in the Circular Economy Park in Shangrao, Jiangxi Province. The Delegates included Prof. Hu Shanying, Prof. Xiang Lan, Prof. Kan Chengyou and Associate Prof. Lv Yangcheng, all from the Chemical Engineering Department of Tsinghua University, together with Researcher Ye Shufeng and Senior Engineer Li Qingchun, both from the Process Engineering Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). 

During the tour, experts held a special seminar, and conducted field studies in the Shangrao Economic and Technological Development Zone, the Xiangtun Ecological Industrial Park, as well as the Wannian Industrial Park located in Damaoshan of Dexing. Delegates also held discussions with officials and technical personnel with relevant local departments of the Province. 

A total of over 200 representatives from government departments or local enterprises attended the seminar and listened to a series of presentations. CAE Member Jin Yong gave a report entitled “Ecological Development and Circular Economy”, who started with the definition and true meaning of the concept “ecological development” and shed light on the understanding of this concept by combining the essence of the 18th National Congress of CPC. Jin quoted relevant national policies aiming at encouraging the development of circular economy and put forward suggestions as to the development of circular economy in Shangrao City. Besides, Prof. Xiang Lan, Prof. Kan Chengyou, Researcher Ye Shufeng and Prof. Hu Shanying made presentations on “High Value Utilization of Mineral Resources -- Nano / Whisker Material”, “Brief Introduction to Water Soluble Polymers and Related Technologies”, “Progress in Researches in New Energy-Conservation and Emission-Reduction Technologies” and “Circular Economy in the 12th Five-Year Plan Period” respectively, from the perspectives of professional technologies and national policies, providing new ideas and proposals for reference for the development of circular economy in Shangrao.
