At the invitation of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE), Piao Dongjian, Vice President of the National Academy of Engineering of Korea (NAEK), led a nine-member delegation of NAEK members and entrepreneurs to Zhejiang Province to join the 6th China-Korea Industrial Innovation Exchange from November 12 to 15, 2019.

The delegation was composed of presidents and CEOs of the well-known Korean companies Samsung, LG and POSCO, outstanding entrepreneurs and patent attorneys, and NAEK members including Paik Man Gi, Lie Sang Bong, and Choi Cheng De.

The delegation visited eight private technology companies in Hangzhou, Huzhou, and Jiaxing cities in Zhejiang, including Alibaba Group, Hai Liang Group, Geely Holding Group, Tianneng Group and Chilwee Group, as well as developments of Hangzhou Future Sci-tech City and Hangzhou Dream Town to conduct technical surveys and exchanges.

During the visit, the delegation went to factories, workshops and laboratories, listened to introductions by respective staff members, conducted in-depth, detailed technical and business exchanges, and expressed keen interest in future cooperation.

Through the survey, the delegation better understood the development status of the relevant companies in fields such as the cloud platform for manufacturing of intelligent CNC equipment, services for new energy vehicles in the home and community, non-ferrous materials, solar energy storage and lead (lithium) batteries as well as new service platforms for entrepreneurs, innovative communication and development of smart terminal industry.

The exchange program between the CAE and the NAEK started in 2014. The latest visit played a positive role in enhancing mutual understanding between industries in China and South Korea and promoting exchanges and cooperation in engineering technology. It also showed the deepening cooperation between the CAE and the NAEK.

Li Lanjuan, CAE member and honorary chairman of the Zhejiang Association for Science and Technology, warmly received the delegation. Staff members from the International Cooperation Department of the CAE and the Zhejiang Association for Science and Technology also accompanied the visit.
