Wang Chen, Vice President of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE), met with Peter Seitz, Vice President of the Swiss Academy of Engineering Sciences (SATW), in Beijing on July 24, 2023. The two sides reached a consensus in strengthening future cooperation between the two academies.

In welcoming Seitz's visit, Wang reviewed past collaboration between the two academies and emphasized the CAE's commitment to openness and international partnership. He said the CAE looked forward to strengthening exchanges with the SATW and cooperation in the field of engineering and technology, especially in medical and healthcare sectors, with the aim of establishing joint seminars or undertaking cooperative research to promote wellbeing for all.

Seitz said Switzerland's technological development had benefited from a strategy of open cooperation and an emphasis on innovation. The SATW is keen to active collaboration with the CAE in critical areas such as medical technology as it strives to expand the friendly relations between the two academies and support global sustainable development.

The meeting was also attended by Jiang Ying, Director of the Talent Office of Shanghai University, and Zhang Lei, Executive Director of the Shanghai University’s Sino-Swiss Institute of Advanced Technology, among others.
