He added that the CAE invites its foreign members to vigorously engage in academic activities organized by the academy and offer suggestions for the development of China’s engineering and the CAE as well.

Tian Qi, Director-General of the CAE Department of International Cooperation, and Ding Ning, Director of the Academic and Publishing Office of the CAE Department Three, briefed attendees on activities in 2022 for foreign members including high-end international forums and academic publications.

Song and Pan also invited CAE foreign members to visit their provinces and to seek mutual development.

The foreign members spoke actively at the webinar and shared their suggestions on the development of engineering science and technology in China and the work of the CAE. They also engaged in lively discussions on the common challenges faced by mankind such as climate change, the COVID-19 pandemic and the training of engineers.
