Internal Departments


The main functions of the internal organizations and departments of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) are as follows:


The Department of General Administration is mainly responsible for work such as policy research, personnel, labor, finance, publicity, information, logistics, etc.


Department One is mainly responsible for the coordination and planning of the election of the CAE Members, scientific ethics, and medical care for the CAE Members as well as member and think tank development of its related academic divisions, and for secretariat work for two special committees.


Department Two is mainly responsible for coordination and planning of strategic consulting and the training of engineering talents, member and think tank development of its related academic divisions, and for secretariat work for two special committees.


Department Three is mainly responsible for the coordination and planning of scientific and technological services, academics and publications, and engineering journals as well as member and think tank development of its related academic divisions, and for secretariat work for two special committees.


The Department of International Cooperation is responsible for formulating policies, regulations and plans for international exchanges and cooperation, organizing bilateral and multilateral exchanges and international academic conferences, as well as work concerning CAE foreign members.


The Centre for Strategic Studies under the CAE is a subordinate department-level organization. Its main function is to serve economic, social and scientific development with engineering science and technology, to develop sustainable, long-term, and forward-looking strategic research, and to actively explore international exchanges and the scientific research methods of a modern think tank. It is also responsible for cross-discipline professional consultation and research, project management, information security and talent training, etc.
